Hooray! It's trail work season again! Join SATA to get the Catamount Trail ready for winter after a busy riding season. There are ruts to repair, drains to clear, and summer stories to share. We have tools and Cafe Subaru snacks; you bring gloves, boots, eye protection and a small daypack with water and clothing for Oregon weather. Meet at 214 trailhead at 9:00 am and we will carpool out to the east end of the trail. We will wrap up work at 1:00 and you can join us for snacks and drinks at Café Subaru. Children over age 7 are welcome with an adult; dogs must be on 6 foot leash per park policy.
Join SATA and Ranger Jason for a day of cutting and swamping on your favorite local trail! We will be clearing back logs that are encroaching on the trail and sending them off the edge. There will also be some drainage work and brushing. Not the best day for dogs or children under 14 unless you are ready to keep them well away from the chain saw.

"Public Meeting Notice – Silver Falls Trails Plan Update: Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) will hold a public meeting on February 15th to discuss minor revisions to the 2009 Silver Falls Parks Plan. The focus will be on trail system changes including but not limited to changes in trail use designations, proposed trail alignment/location and trails modifications to address changing use patterns, maintenance and habitat management. Parks Planning and field staff will be limiting input to the trail system sections of the current adopted park plan."

Don't want to face the Labor Day traffic jams? Next Saturday, September 3rd: Come on up to the Catamount and help put up bridge railings and signs and improve the approach on bridge 3. If we get a bunch of people we'll send some over to the Perimeter Trail and finish the brushing that we started last month. Bring your bike if you want to ride after! Represent SATA Saturday, August 6th, at the Homer Davenport Days parade in Silverton! There will be a cool float featuring a very handsome junior trail builder, and the rest of us will ride bikes and walk in a very impromptu bicycle drill team. Rock your SATA orange or REI green shirt; we have extras if you need one. Meet at the Old Silverton High School at 9:00 am; parade starts at 10:00. Bring your kids, decorate your bikes, and join the fun!
